Choosing 25 albums from the past year proved to be a difficult task. 2011 produced a whole whack load of great music and it was tough to come up with and order the list below. Other than the albums below, there were a bunch that I couldn’t fit in my top 25. Those albums include Lykke Li Wounded Rhymes, Adele 21, Fleet Foxes Helplessness Blues and The War on Drugs Slave Ambient.

2011 proved to be another fantastic year for Canadian music. Leading the way was Drake with his second album Take Care. Other Canadians with good albums this year include City And Colour with Little Hell, Austra with her debut Feel It Break and Arkells with Michigan Left.

Hope you enjoy these albums as much as I did and as always if there was an album you really liked that I didn’t mention, please let me know!

Liam Gallagher & his new band Beady Eye have supplied us beloved music fans with an amazing start to 2011. Only four days ago I blogged about them releasing their new single ‘The Roller‘ and here I am today telling you about their new video for ‘The Roller’. These guys are a non stop working machine ready to conquer the music world one week at a time.

It’s no secret that Liam is a huge Beatles fan and it shows in this video and song. He also hasn’t lost his touch as being one of the best frontman in music history. In his classic Oasis pose, Liam and his bandmates perform inside of what looks like it should belong in a circus as a girl on a bike rides around in circles above them. It’s a pretty neat video for an amazing track! Their album Different Gear, Still Speeding is going to be huge in 2011 and I personally cannot wait for this. Hope you enjoy this video as much as I did.

British rock group Beady Eye released their lead single today titled ‘The Roller’. This is the first official track off their upcoming debut album called Different Gear, Still Speeding, which is scheduled for a release in February.

This is vintage Liam Gallagher and it’s amazing! ‘The Roller’ is by far better than the previous two tracks, ‘Bring The Light‘ and ‘Four Letter Word‘, that we’ve heard. Check it out below and let me know what you think. Can’t wait for this album as it will be great!

What’s a better way of ending 2010 with a new video from one of the highly anticipated albums of 2011. Liam Gallagher and his crew have just released their new video for ‘Four Letter Word’. After watching the video and paying attention to the lyrics I couldn’t help but come to the conclusion that this may be directed towards his brother and ex-Oasis member Noel Gallagher. Here are a few parts of the lyrics:

‘You’ve had enough
Staring out of dead end eyes
It’s gonna be tough
The battle’s on and your soul is the prize’

‘I don’t know what it is I’m feeling
A four letter word really gets my meaning
Nothing ever lasts forever’

I don’t know about you but those are some heft lyrics and one can easily come to the conclusion that this indeed may be a shot at Noel. Check out the video below and let me know what you think!
