So this has been in the works for a while now and finally decided to go ahead and re-skin the blog. I’m sure there will be things missing and/or not functioning properly and if you happen to come across any of them please let me know in the comments below. Hope everyone enjoys the new theme!

This post is a little late but I eventually got around to writing about it. About a week and a half ago I attended the Autoshow with Flav and went crazy with taking pictures. Since I picked up my Canon Rebel XS I’ve been taking pictures of everything. I figured the Autoshow would be a great place to take pictures with my new DSLR. I’ve update my photography section of my portfolio with an Autoshow gallery. Here are a few of the pictures, for the rest of the gallery check out my portfolio section.

For the past couple of months I’ve been working on a redesign of my site and finally I’ve completed it and launched it today. When I started thinking about how I wanted my site to look I kept two words in my head at all times; clean & simple. I didn’t want a site that was busy or hard to use/navigate, so I came up with a design that was simple and clean. My redesign featues an ajax based navigation on my homepage and a sliding <div> layer for my portfolio pieces. I also took the task of creating a custom blog theme. I followed a tutorial that I found online that was super easy to go trough and came up with a blog that is consistant with my site. I also created a custom 404 error page. A 404 error page is that pesky “Page not found” error when someone gives you a wrong URL or the page doesn’t exist anymore. Anyways I hope you all enjoy the new design and look forward to read any comments/suggestions.

It’s been a couple of months since I’ve integrated my wordpress blog into my own site and since then I’ve done some searching around to find tutorials on how to create custom themes. I found one that was very easy to follow and gave me no troubles at all. This is pretty much what the rest of my site will look like so I hope you all enjoy it and if you have any feedback I’d love to hear it.

Happy New Year!

Recently I’ve been in the process of redesigning my website and I’ve now completed the second phase of my redesign. What’s the second phase you ask, well the second phase consists of mockups of possible designs that I can use. After about 3 weeks of working on designs and juggling back and forth with different homepage layouts, I have officially decided on one look. With that final decision made I can now say phase two is complete and I’m ready to move to phase three, which is building the whole site.

I’ll keep you posted.

Redesigning a website can be a lengthy process and because of that I’ve decided to break it down into phases. Phase one is to come up with a colour scheme, some general ideas as to how your new site will look and to create a simple single page that displays all the necessary info.  With that said I have successfully completed phase one of my redesign and am moving onto phase two. Phase two will probably start off with some simple wireframes/layouts of how each page will look like, followed by rough designs. Stay tuned as I will try my best to update the status of the redesign.

I’ve been working with the owner of On The Way Cafe for a while now and I’ve done a lot of work for him. It all started out by designing a logo. From there it went to a one page website to a business card, to a poster, to a flyer and to a full out website. I enjoyed working on OnTheWayCafe.ca very much as it was my first real website. I’ve spent a lot of time designing it and making it work properly and i’m very pleased to see it launched. Take a look and let me know what you think.
