Warmachine is a metal band out of Toronto that was introduced to me by a friend. My buddy Matt is a hardcore metal guy so I knew I was in for something special when he let me listen to Warmachine.

When I think of metal bands at this time in music I think of Protest The Hero, Cancer Bats and Bullet For My Valentine. All of them are great but Warmachine stands out for me. These guys have that sound from the early days of metal mixed in with present day metal.

Matt let me listen to Safe Haven off their debut album ‘The Beginning Of The End’ and I was hooked. I couldn’t believe how good they sound. The minute I got home, I got their album and listened to it back to front on repeat for days. Their sound reminds me Iron Maiden, which makes sense because they list Iron Maiden as one of their influences on their MySpace.

Warmachine has an upcoming album called ‘Left For Dead’ which is scheduled to be released in the next couple of months which I am definitely looking forward to hearing. I hope that these guys get picked up by a label and get some radio play because they surely deserve it.
